Childhood Obesity Prevention - Qualistar

Obesity Prevention

We focus on early childhood obesity prevention by creating and delivering innovative professional development experiences to raise awareness, develop skills, and support the integration of best practices and policies. Early childhood professionals play an important role in helping children develop healthy preferences that can last a lifetime.
Preventing obesity during childhood is important because habits that are formed during the early years usually carry over into adulthood, making overweight children more likely to become overweight adults. In Colorado, one in five children ages two- to four-years are overweight or obese.
