Early Childhood Education Assessments

Early Childhood Education Assessments

An ECE assessment is a strategy for measuring quality. Assessments are tools and processes that offer an understanding of quality and can be the first step toward quality improvement. Our menu of assessments targets the components of early childhood education that have been identified through research to positively impact children’s learning outcomes. We are proud to offer a broad range of reliable assessments that offer the framework needed to invest strategically in quality improvement.

Assessments in Early Childhood

Early childhood Learning environment assessments are important pieces of the quality puzzle. There is not one single aspect of an ECE setting that defines quality; it is a combination of characteristics including leadership and the teaching team, family dynamics, and the needs of children. With many years of experience in the early childhood field, our team stands out for our expertise in determining the quality of one critical aspect of the picture: the learning environment.
Our quality rating specialists are experienced in using the entire suite of Environment Rating Scale tools that include all age groups being served in centers and preschools, family child care, faith-based settings, and school age programs. These tools include: The Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale-Revised designed for children ages three- to five-years; The Infant/Toddler Environment Rating Scale-Revised designed for children younger than three-years; The Family Child Care Environment Rating Scale-Revised designed for all ages of children, and The School-Age Care Environment Rating Scale is designed for children enrolled in school.
Through the use of these tools, results can identify aspects of your program that need attention and establish a baseline for quality improvement from where you and your team can grow.
