Family Child Care Quality Certificate

Supporting the unique business of family child care

The Family Child Care Quality Certificate includes a combination of training, technical assistance, incentives, access to resources, and an on-site visit all designed specifically for family child care providers. Our Family Child Care Support Specialist works one-on-one to assist every participant in attaining Level 2 status in the Colorado Shines Quality Rating and Improvement System.

We currently have a waiting list for the FCCQC program while we pursue continued funding.

Participating family child care providers learn how to strengthen and improve business practices and create healthy family partnerships. The Family Child Care Support Specialist also ensures that participants understand Colorado’s Early Learning and Development Guidelines, the Professional Development Information System, and Colorado Shines Quality Rating & Improvement System (QRIS). Participants gain insight and learn practical ways to reach even higher levels of quality.

Participants in the Family Child Care Quality Certificate quality improvement process receive:

  • Professional training and individualized consultations
  • A $300 grant to be used for program materials
  • One year membership to the Colorado Association of Family Child Care
  • Hands-on assistance with the Professional Development Information System and Colorado Shines

Now that I have my Certificate, I will be able to obtain a higher level in Colorado Shines. Having the materials in Spanish gave me confidence while working with the assessor and navigating the online forms. Now I have the tools I need to create better family partnerships and provide better quality care to my children.
